Ocean Freight: Port to Port

Ocean Freight ( By Sea ): Port to Port
Unlike courier services, which are door-to-door, ocean freight is from sea port to sea port. Once your goods arrive at the destination port, you will need to arrange customs clearance and transportation to your warehouse. Ocean freight is the most cost-effective way to reduce shipping expenses.

General Ocean Freight Process:
1) After confirming ocean freight as the shipping method, we proceed with booking shipping space.
2) Once the sailing date is confirmed, the freight forwarder will issue a warehouse entry notice.
3) We deliver the goods to the designated warehouse according to the entry notice.
4) During the waiting period before departure, working such as container loading and customs declaration are completed.
5) After the vessel departs, we will send you the customs clearance documents (invoice, packing list, bill of lading).
6) Before the ship arrives at the destination sea port, the destination freight forwarder will contact you to handle customs clearance and cargo pick-up. Please be mindful of deadlines, as goods cannot remain in port for too long, or you may incur additional fees (e.g., demurrage charges).

Transit Time:
Ocean freight requires waiting for available sailings. Sailing schedules vary by country/region, and both the departure and destination ports require time for document processing. Due to varying distances and shipping routes, transit times differ.

Total Transit Time:
Processing time before shipment + ocean shipping time + post-arrival processing time + domestic transportation time at the destination.

Approximate Ocean Transit Times (Contact us for more details on other countries):

USA: West Coast – around 14 days; East Coast – around 30 days
Canada: around 25-35 days
UK: around 28 days
France: around 30 days
Netherlands: around 30 days
Denmark: around 35 days
Australia: around 18 days

Pre-Shipment Processing Time:
Includes booking shipping space, container allocation, and customs declaration, usually 1-2 weeks.

Post-Arrival Processing Time:
Includes customs clearance, approximately 1 week.

What Does the Receiver Need to Do?
You will need a freight forwarder to assist with customs clearance and delivery to your warehouse.

Total Shipping Costs:
Ocean freight + port handling fees + domestic transportation costs at the destination.

Ocean Freight Costs:
Charges are based on both volume and weight. The chargeable weight is determined by either volumetric or actual weight, whichever is greater.

Since ocean freight involves handling various fixed fees, it is more economical for shipments over 1 CBM (cubic meter). Textile products, which are lightweight but take up significant volume, are well-suited for ocean freight, allowing for significant savings on shipping costs. Ocean freight is ideal for customers who wish to use elaborate packaging (e.g., gift boxes, which take up more space).

Q: I have my own ocean freight forwarder. Can you ship the goods to them to arrange transportation?
Yes. Please inform us of your requirements when placing the order and provide your freight forwarder’s details for booking.

Q: I have other goods and want you to ship them together with my order.
There’s no need. Ocean freight can be delivered directly to freight forwarder's designated warehouse, where they will consolidate and ship everything together.
